Our Story
Simon Peter was founded as a ministry of Hillcrest Baptist Church in 1986 when the need for a pre-school was identified in the Hillcrest area – at that time a far less developed suburb. From its founding, the school quickly grew to around 60 pupils, a number which it has since maintained. As a non-profit ministry, Simon Peter is funded entirely by donations, school fees and fund raising, and any surpluses generated go right back into the school.

Management
The school affairs are managed by the school staff who work as a team. This team is responsible to the chairman of Simon Peter who reports to leaders of the Hillcrest Baptist Church. Any concerns must be addressed to your child’s teacher, the administrator or to the chairman.
An enthusiastic parents’ committee assists with the maintenance of equipment and fund raising. Your involvement would be heartily appreciated. Please give your name to the administrator and mention the way you would like to be involved in your child’s school. This will be communicated to the parents’ committee. All excellent pre-schools thrive on parental involvement!
Times
The operating times will be as follows:
Main gate opens: 07:15 for 07:50
School closes: 12:00
Aftercare: 12:00 to 15:00
We would appreciate strict adherence to these times. Late comers disrupt lessons and teachers who have other responsibilities cannot supervise children after 15:00.
